  1. mmmm...colcannon. I can find lot's of things wrong here.
    a)Ditch the english muffins
b)Jam is not good! Not ever it is sugar or worse fake sugar!
c)Get rid of the granola add more fruit
d)There is no way chili lime almonds taste like 6 points, really?
e)Chicken cutlet looks delish but it should not be battered! It should be bigger and grilled...
    Oh and I love you!

  2. I'm going to google Colcannon now--never heard of it. Is that what's in the bowl?

Also, I disagree with M about the granola. That looks like kashi granola, which is very good for you. Whole grains help keep everything moving!

There is no magic number for calorie intake as each individual persons metabolism runs at a different rate, but you will find all Good nutritionists (degrees and actual qualified professionals of the field) will recommend that when dieting at home that you should aim for a calorie intake of 1,000 to 12,000 calories per day, if your body goes into starvation mode, it will burn your muscle as a means of fueling its self, so you will see an big decrees in your weight, but it will not be from your fat stores, it will be from your muscles stores, the side effect of this is, that to have a high metabolism you actually need a high muscle percentage.

The metabolic rate - the rate at which the body burns calories - is partly determined by the amount of muscle we have. In general, the more muscle we have, the higher our metabolic rate; the less muscle we have, the lower our metabolic rate. This explains why men, who have a high proportion of muscle, have a faster metabolism than women, and why a 20-year-old has a higher metabolism than a 70-year-old - again, they have more muscle.

Ultimately, muscle burns a lot more calories than fat so when we lose muscle, our metabolic rate drops and we burn fewer calories. In fact, research shows that the body loses a proportionately high amount of muscle with a very low calorie intake and this may considerably suppress metabolism by up to 45 percent.

This explains why it's crucial to do as much as you can to protect your metabolic rate, especially when you're dieting. And this means dieting sensibly with a suitable, rather than a very low calorie intake so that you lose fat rather than muscle.

I am someone that has been over weight, and been under weight, and now is lucky enough to have a stable metabolism that works in a way that i can eat what i want in moderation and still have a healthy body that can wear a bikini. :) keep up the good work, dont go under your points and maybe even increase your food a bit if you are finding that the weight isnt coming of, as you may have gotten into starvation mode, be aware it also takes a while to kick start back from starvation mode so dont go getting into a bad head space, its about being healthy! happy and living your life while loosing that extra baggage, everything in life is about moderation.
